Why are there two versions of Artisan POS?
Artisan POS Version 3.5 has been fully developed and maintained for the last 16 years, it has all the features that most industries need and more.

Artisan POS Version 4.0 is our new redesigned and rebuilt application. It has been rebuilt from the ground up and now runs on both Windows and Mac computers. It also has a more modern look with super powerful tools. It is a work-in-progress and is not as developed as 3.5 just yet, but will be more powerful eventually. Only certain businesses can use 4.0 at the time until all features are finished to fit most businesses.

When will Artisan POS 4.0 be available?
Artisan POS Version is available now for Mac & PC!  Although it is not as seasoned as our 3.5 version, we have plenty of stores that have been using it successfully for some time. There are new features planned for the next few releases such as Product Variants (Color & Size), Loyalty Clubs, BOGO, Additional Accounting Software support such as Peachtree, Multi-Store, and much more! What operating systems does Artisan work on?
Artisan 4.0 works on both Windows and Mac or a combination of both

Is Artisan cloud-based?
No, Artisan 4.0 uses a stand-alone database engine installed on the store’s main computer/site that serves all computers no matter where they are. There is the option to make backups to cloud services but this is a add-on to Artisan itself.

Does Artisan integrate with payment processors?
Yes, Artisan 4.0 has several options we have hand-picked for your benefits. Artisan also supports any processor as long as they integrate with BridgePay Gateway but this option requires more customization on your part.

How many stations can I have per store?
As many as you are licensed for. We have tested a maximum of 20 stations at one specific location running successfully on all tasks but this scenario has a been a professional setup with multiple high-end servers that supports the connectivity of many computers at the time.
