Importing and Exporting QuickBooks Files (Artisan 3.5)

If you use Artisan 3.5, please follow these steps to export and import your QuickBooks files.

1. From Artisan’s “Main Menu,” go to “Accounting.”

2. Choose “Export Sales Summaries to Accounting Package.”

3. Enter your date range for the days you want to export.

4. Click on “Export To.” This is where Artisan is saving your QuickBooks files. In this example, it is on our “C” drive, indicated by the file path C:\Artisan\Dayend.IIF

5. Within QuickBooks, click on “File,” “Utilities,” “Import,” then “IIF.”

Look at your file path. For example, if we’re in the C:\Artisan\Dayend file path, we should see the most recent day end that we just exported.

If you do not see your file, you might be in the wrong folder. Sometimes your computer might default to a commonly visited folder or a place called “Frequently Used Files.” If your day ends are not saved here from Artisan, you will not see them.
