Artisan makes it easy to see your best-selling items, vendors, manufacturers, and categories. You can even see which customers buy the most items, and sort by quantity sold, amount sold, and profit. Run the “Best Sellers<\/strong>” report to view this data.<\/p>\n

Accessing the Report<\/h3>\n

From the toolbar, select “Reports<\/strong>,” “Sales Reports<\/strong>,” and “Best Sellers<\/strong>” report.<\/p>\n

Or, from the “Main Menu<\/strong>,” select “Reports<\/strong>,” “Sales Reports<\/strong>,” and “Best Sellers<\/strong>” report.<\/p>\n

Either way, you’ll end up at the “Best Sellers Report<\/strong>” field screen.<\/p>\n

Report Fields<\/h3>\n

Select Date Range:\u00a0<\/strong>Determine a date range for this report. Best-selling data will show between these dates. Use the dropdown arrow to select the calendar or input dates manually.<\/p>\n

Sales Site:\u00a0<\/strong>If you have more than one location, you can choose to view best-selling items from all store locations or a specific location.<\/p>\n

Summarize By:\u00a0<\/strong>This determines what data you want to see. For example, if you want to see the best-selling items, including their codes and descriptions, this will appear on the report. If you just want to see the best-selling categories, then select “Category,” and so on.<\/p>\n

Group By:\u00a0<\/strong>This determines how your data is separated, paired with the “Summarize By” field. For example, selecting Sort by “Item” and Group by “Category” will list each item(s) under the relevant category.<\/p>\n

Category Roll Up:\u00a0<\/strong>Starting in 4.8, you can include how “deep” you want Artisan to drill down. For example, if you only want to show parent categories, select “1.” If you want to show child categories, select a number 2-9.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sort By: <\/strong>This determines how the data is arranged for each section.<\/p>\n

Like most Artisan reports, you can utilize multiple fields to narrow down your data. You can choose to show only one or a few specific items by searching for or entering their item code(s) or descriptions. You can include or exclude vendors and vendor purchase numbers, keywords, categories, and much more.\u00a0<\/p>\n

You can also save any changes you make as defaults by selecting the “Save as Defaults<\/strong>” option. The next time you open this report, your saved specifications will appear. The only thing that won’t save is the date range.<\/p>\n

Report Examples<\/h3>\n

There are many areas of this report to customize how you see fit. Here are a few examples.<\/p>\n

Summarize By Vendor, No Grouping, Rank By Qty Sold:<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this example, we can see that our data is ranked by the quantity each vendor sold. A percentage is included of how many items sold compared to the other vendors on the list.<\/p>\n

Summarize By Vendor, No Grouping, Rank By Amount Sold:<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this example, our data is ranked by the amount each manufacturer sold – the items that were ordered from this vendor and ended up being sold.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Summarize By Vendor, No Grouping, Rank By Profit:<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this example, our data is ranked by the profit gained from each vendor.<\/p>\n

Summarize By Item, Group By Vendor, Rank By Qty Sold:<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this example, each section is broken down into the vendor, with their items listed, and ranked by the number sold.<\/p>\n

Summarize By Category, Group By Category, with Category Roll Up<\/strong><\/p>\n

With category roll-up enabled, it can be applied to the parent category (ex. Apparel) or just focus on child categories (ex. Men’s Apparel).<\/p>\n
