4.7 introduces PDT (physical data terminal) support. CerTek\u2019s ScannerPal is a portable data terminal that allows you to collect data, like counts, around the store and submit it to Artisan for tasks like sales orders, physical inventory, and more. This article explains how to use ScannerPal for printing labels.<\/p>\n

Select Your Information Collection Method<\/h3>\n

Select how you are gathering information in ScannerPal. Select \u201cCollect Counts<\/strong>\u201d if you want to scan items then input the quantity as you go. For example, you know you\u2019re scanning all of the same items on a shelf, so you scan one of them, count how many of the items are there, then input that quantity in the quantity box.<\/p>\n

Or, select \u201cCollect Scans (w\/o Qty)<\/strong>.\u201d This is best if it is easier for you to scan each item individually, most commonly if you have a lot of single items or items that are mixed in a group and it\u2019s difficult to see their total QOH at one time.<\/p>\n

Make sure your “Job Type<\/strong>” is set to “Label Printing<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Optionally insert a “Job Description<\/strong>” to describe the nature of your scans, like printing labels for a specific product category.<\/p>\n

Next, tap on the “Scan<\/strong>” tab. Tap the “Item Type<\/strong>” field to place the cursor in the box, then scan an item by pressing the yellow side button.<\/p>\n

When you’re finished scanning, press the blue arrow button and head to the “Job<\/strong>” tab.<\/p>\n

Select “Submit Job<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

Within Artisan<\/h3>\n

This article assumes that you have a label printer already set up and connected to Artisan. If not, click here<\/a> <\/strong>to learn how.<\/p>\n

From the “Main Menu<\/strong>,” select “Labels<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

Choose “Print Labels From Scans<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

Select the “Load Scans From Device<\/strong>” button, or press “Ctrl<\/strong>” and “F10<\/strong>” on your keyboard.<\/p>\n

This brings up the “Scan Job”<\/strong> screen.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Select a scan job to print labels for by double-clicking or pressing “Enter<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

This brings up the “Scanned Items<\/strong>” screen. When you’re ready, press “F10<\/strong>” on your keyboard or “Process<\/strong>” to send these items to the label printing screen.<\/p>\n

Select how many labels you want to print. As always, double check you’re printing on the correct size\/type label form and that you’re using the right print method (thermal transfer or direct thermal). Press “Start<\/strong>” to begin printing your labels.<\/p>\n
