Click on \u201cDevice Configuration<\/strong>\u201d at the bottom.<\/p>\n Notice the Stations section directly below \u201cDevice Configuration<\/strong>.\u201d We\u2019re configuring these devices for our station #1, but if you have more than one station, you can toggle between their settings here.<\/p>\n Next, click on \u201cPrinters<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n This opens a list of up to six printers you can use with Artisan.\u00a0Note:\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cPrinter 1\u201d is designated for printing reports. It is strongly recommended that you leave “Printer 1<\/strong>” as your report printer.<\/p>\n Choose a description for this printer. A name like \u201cReport Printer<\/strong>\u201d might suffice.<\/p>\n If you want to preview documents on your computer and export or print them from a pop-up screen, instead of them automatically being sent to your printer, set “Print to File?<\/strong>” to “Yes<\/strong>.” Otherwise, leave this field set to “No<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n If you set this to “Yes<\/strong>,” you may choose where the files go to. We recommend leaving this set to the “Artisan\\Print to File<\/strong>” folder.<\/p>\n Notice the section \u201cWindows 10 Printer Name<\/strong>.\u201d Artisan will automatically detect which operating system you are on, and this name will change accordingly (e.g., \u201cMac OS 11 Printer Name\u201d if you\u2019re using a Mac computer).<\/p>\n You may leave this printer set to default (detected from your computer) or choose a printer from the list.<\/p>\n Though it\u2019s easier to leave your printer set to default, there might be times when you\u2019ll want to change this. For instance, some versions of Windows try to manage your default printer for you and end up choosing the wrong printer. To ensure you\u2019re connected to the right printer, head into your printer settings on your computer.<\/p>\n For Windows users:\u00a0<\/strong>Search for \u201ccontrol panel<\/strong>\u201d in your Windows search bar, then click on \u201cview devices and printers<\/strong>.\u201d If there isn\u2019t a checkmark over your selected printer, that means Windows is choosing your default printer based on which printer you print the most from. Choose which printer you want to select, click on\u00a0\u201cset as default printer<\/strong>,\u201d and hit \u201cyes<\/strong>\u201d when asked \u201cdo you want to override this setting?<\/strong>\u201c<\/p>\n Next, select \u201cPrinter Type<\/strong>.\u201d This section lets you confirm what type of printer you are using (thermal, label, sheet, etc.).
