Taking advantage of the\u00a0Quick Pick<\/strong>\u00a0section is one of many ways that Artisan can make transactions easier and faster! The\u00a0Quick Pick\u00a0<\/strong>is a location where you can easily add items to a sale or order. This is especially helpful for your most popular items that customers ask for.<\/p>\n

\n

<\/a>Using the Quick Pick<\/h3>\n

Once your items and\/or categories are added to the Quick Pick, it’s easy to select what you need.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

1. Open the Quick Pick by selecting the “Quick Pick<\/strong>” button or pressing\u00a0F11\u00a0<\/strong>on your keyboard.<\/p>\n

2. Press the product’s button or select its letter or number on your keyboard.\u00a0<\/p>\n

3. The item will be added to the Sales Screen.<\/p>\n

\n

<\/a>Add an Item to the Quick Pick<\/h3>\n

1. Select your item from the Inventory Records screen and click on \u201cEdit This Record<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

2. This page will then display, allowing some customization for the\u00a0item<\/strong>\u00a0that you are working with. Select the \u201cPictures & Menus<\/strong>\u201d tab.<\/p>\n

3. From this screen, select the drop-down menu that is highlighted and change \u201cInclude in Quick-Pick?<\/strong>\u201d to \u201cYes<\/strong>.\u201d\u00a0 You can also customize the\u00a0Quick Pick<\/strong>\u00a0button with additional options such as \u201cMenu Color<\/strong>\u201d and \u201cThumbnail Image<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

4. You can also adjust the order of your Quick Pick buttons by entering a number in the\u00a0\u201cMenu Order<\/strong>\u201d section. Any items with the Menu Order at 80 will be sorted alphabetically. The lower the number, the further up the item\u2019s order.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As an example, we\u2019ll set this other item\u2019s menu order at \u201c80.\u201d<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll do the same for this next item, \u201cA Wilder Rose.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

For this item, we\u2019ll set its order to \u201c1.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Access the Quick Pick menu from the Sale\u2019s Screen by selecting the \u201cQuick Pick<\/strong>\u201d button or pressing F11 on your keyboard.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Notice how \u201cHappiness\u201d and \u201cA Wilder Rose\u201d are sorted alphabetically, and \u201cBriar Queen\u201d is the first item listed on the Quick-Pick menu.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Add a Category to the Quick Pick<\/h3>\n

You may choose to add categories to the Quick Pick instead of individual items. When categories are added to the Quick Pick, any items within that category that are marked as \u201cInclude in Quick Pick<\/strong>?\u201d in their Item Record will show up on the menu.<\/p>\n

First, head to the \u201cCategories<\/strong>\u201d section in Artisan.<\/p>\n

Select a category to edit.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Click on the \u201cPictures and Menus<\/strong>\u201d tab. Just like the Quick Pick option for Item Records, you may change its Menu Order, Menu Color, and a full-sized or thumbnail image.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

You may also choose to write an abbreviated name for the category, especially if it is a long category name. Leave this section blank if you want to use the Category Description.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Sticky Quick Pick Mode<\/h3>\n

The \u201cSticky Quick Pick<\/strong>\u201d field is optional. If this is selected, Artisan will return to the Quick Pick category. This is useful if you need to add more than one item on the Quick Pick to the sale. To leave the menu, select the \u201cCancel<\/strong>\u201d button or hit \u201cEsc<\/strong>\u201d on your keyboard.<\/p>\n

To enable or disable this, go to the category and select the “Pictures and Menus<\/strong>” tab and select “Yes<\/strong>” or “No<\/strong>” for the “Sticky Quick Pick?<\/strong>” field.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

With this setting left as default, Artisan will open the Quick-Pick to show all top-level items and categories. For example, you have the category \u201cArtwork<\/strong>\u201d on the \u201cQuick-Pick<\/strong>,\u201d and when \u201cArtwork<\/strong>\u201d is selected, it opens a subcategory with other items. \u201cArtwork<\/strong>\u201d is the top-level category.<\/p>\n

Automatic Quick Pick Mode<\/h3>\n

You can have Artisan display the Quick-Pick screen whenever a new sale is started. Instead of showing the Sale Screen first, the Quick-Pick will display. This is great if your store is very fast-paced, and you need to select commonly purchased items.<\/p>\n

Select \u201cTools<\/strong>\u201d and \u201cProgram Options.<\/strong>\u201c<\/p>\n

Select \u201cMiscellaneous Program Options<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Select \u201cSale Screen Options<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Look for \u201cQuick Pick.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>For the \u201cAutomatic Quick Pick Mode?<\/strong>\u201d select \u201cYes<\/strong>.\u201d Save your changes.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Now, when a new sale is started, Artisan will show the Quick-Pick menu. Artisan will keep showing this menu (so you can select other items if necessary) until you select \u201cCancel<\/strong>\u201d or \u201c0<\/strong>\u201d on your keyboard before returning to the Sales Screen.<\/p>\n

Automatic Category<\/strong><\/h3>\n

You may also program Artisan to open in a specific category automatically, instead of just showing all top-level items. Just select a category from the dropdown.<\/p>\n

Now, Artisan will always start in this category when the Sales Screen is opened.<\/p>\n
