Artisan lets you import line items from a file onto a Purchase Order. This is especially helpful if you’re switching from another POS to Artisan and want to keep your purchase order records intact. Follow these steps to learn how.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Setting Up the File<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Before you import the file into Artisan, you must set up the .XLSX file using a program like Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel. Using the correct column headers ensures that Artisan will be able to read the data properly.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Even though this file isn’t coming from a scanner device, like ScannerPal, Artisan needs the information set up similarly.<\/p>\n

Set up your document with the column “Code<\/strong>” and the column “Qty” (case-sensitive, as shown in the example).<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Code<\/strong>” is used for the item’s Item Code and “Qty<\/strong>” is for the amount included on the Purchase Order.<\/p>\n

Save your document as an .XLSX file.<\/p>\n

Importing Into Artisan<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Create or edit your purchase order.<\/p>\n

Open the “Operations<\/strong>” menu. Do this by clicking on the “Operations<\/strong>” button or the shortcut, CTRL<\/strong> and O<\/strong> on your keyboard.<\/p>\n

Select the “(Scan Mode) Load PO from PDT or File<\/strong>” button or by selecting the “U<\/strong>” or “F8<\/strong>” shortcuts on your keyboard.<\/p>\n

Choose the “Import Scans from File<\/strong>” button or select “Shift<\/strong>” and “F10<\/strong>” on your keyboard.<\/p>\n

Locate the file on your computer and select “Open<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

If your import was successful, you should receive a confirmation screen in Artisan.<\/p>\n

The items should now be included on the “Scanned Items<\/strong>” screen. When you’re finished reviewing them, press “Process<\/strong>” or “F10<\/strong>” on your keyboard.<\/p>\n
