What is a ZIP File?<\/h3>\n

“Zipping” a file refers to bundling a file – or multiple files – into a folder. This is useful if you send multiple large files over email or upload them to a file-sharing service like DropBox.<\/p>\n

Zipping a File<\/h3>\n

Locate your files and select them (by dragging over them with your mouse or selecting “Shift<\/strong>” on your keyboard and clicking on each file individually).<\/p>\n

With the files selected, right-click and hover over “Send to<\/strong>.” Select “Compressed (zipped) folder<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

Your zipped folder is now created.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Extracting a Zipped File<\/h3>\n

In order to import a zipped file (either into Artisan or another program) you’ll need to “extract” it from the folder.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Right click on the zip folder and select “Extract All<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

You may optionally choose to change where the extracted files will save to by clicking “Browse<\/strong>” and selecting a different location.\u00a0<\/p>\n

You may also optionally choose to view these files when the Extract is complete. This won’t open the files automatically, but will simply open where they are saved.<\/p>\n
