In this article, we’ll go over how simple it is to set up your store with BigCommerce using the Artisan Task Manager.<\/p>\n

Setting up the Task Manager  – Upload<\/h3>\n

1. Launch the Artisan Task Manager. Click “Task<\/strong>” and “New<\/strong>.” <\/p>\n

2. Give your task a name.<\/p>\n

Enter your “Server Name<\/strong>.” This is the name of the computer where the data is located. If it’s this <\/em>machine, you can use “localhost<\/strong>.” Enter your “Server Port #<\/strong>.” Most likely it is 5432. Enter your “Database Name<\/strong>.” This is most likely POS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To find out what your “Server Name<\/strong>,” “Server Port #<\/strong>,” and “Database Name<\/strong>” is, click on “Help<\/strong>,” and “About<\/strong>” in Artisan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Set the “Task Type<\/strong>” to “Upload<\/strong>.” Later, you’ll make one set to “Download<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

5. “Task Frequency<\/strong>” is the number of minutes before the “Task Manager<\/strong>” automatically starts uploading to BigCommerce again. The default is 15.\u00a0 You may change this at any time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

6. Set “Internet Store Type<\/strong>”\u00a0 to “BigCommerce<\/strong>.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

7. The “Store URL<\/strong>” is the web address for your site. You must use https:\/\/<\/strong> at the beginning of the URL. For example, https:\/\/mystore.com<\/p>\n

8. “Store Hash<\/strong>” is found by visiting your store inside the BigCommerce dashboard. It is a unique set of characters and letters in between https:\/\/store-<\/strong> and .mybigcommerce.com.<\/strong> For example, https:\/\/store-ghjkl67890.bigcommerce.com – ghjkl67890<\/strong> is the hash.<\/p>\n

9. In the next two sections, you’ll fill in the\u00a0API Token<\/strong> and\u00a0WebDAV Credentials<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Creating an API Token in BigCommerce<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1. Log in to your BigCommerce account.<\/p>\n

2. Click on “Settings<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

3.<\/a><\/span>\u00a0Scroll down to the “API<\/strong>” section. Select “Store-level API accounts<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

4. Select “Create new API Account<\/strong>.” Call it “Artisan POS<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

5. Make sure “Customers<\/strong>” is set to read-only, “Orders<\/strong>” is set to read-only, “Order transactions<\/strong>” is set to read-only, “Products<\/strong>” is set to modify, and “Store Inventory<\/strong>” is set to modify. You may leave the others set to their default, “none” unless instructed otherwise.<\/p>\n

6. A text file with your “Client ID,<\/strong>” “Client Secret<\/strong>” code, and\u00a0 “Access Token<\/strong>” should automatically download once you create the token. However, before you press “Done” on this screen, copy and paste the API token into a text file on your own, just to guarantee that you will have this for later.<\/em> <\/span><\/strong>Paste the API Token into your Artisan Task Manager.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Getting WebDAV Credentials from BigCommerce<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In Artisan version 4.9.74 and later, you’ll also need to get the WebDAV<\/strong> Username & Password from BigCommerce (for the Upload task only).<\/p>\n

Scroll down to the Advanced<\/strong> section in the BigCommerce Settings.

Click on File access (WebDAV)<\/strong>.
\"\"<\/a>Copy these into the WebDAV Username and Password fields in the Artisan Task.<\/span><\/p>\n

Setting up the Task Manager\u00a0 – Download<\/h3>\n

In order to send the orders from your BigCommerce to Artisan, you’ll need to create a “Download<\/strong>” task in the “Task Manager<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

1. Click on “Task<\/strong>” and “New<\/strong>.” Give your task a name.<\/p>\n

2. As with the setup for the “Upload<\/strong>” task, input your server name, port, and database name, which can all be found by going to “Help<\/strong>” and “About Artisan POS<\/strong>” within Artisan.<\/p>\n

3. Set the “Task Type<\/strong>” to “Download<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

4. The “Task Frequency”<\/strong> is how often the “Task Manager<\/strong>” will download orders from your store. The default is every 15 minutes between operating hours of 9:00 am to 5 PM. You may change this if you wish.\u00a0<\/p>\n

5. Change the “Internet Store Type<\/strong>” to “BigCommerce<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

6. Copy and paste the “Store Hash<\/strong>” from the “Upload<\/strong>” task.<\/p>\n

7. Copy and paste the API token. If you can’t find this information, delete the API and create a new one (which will need to be used for the “Upload<\/strong>” task as well).\u00a0<\/p>\n
