This article contains tips and examples for using QuickBooks Desktop to import sales summary transactions from Artisan POS<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creating Accounts in QuickBooks Desktop<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To create accounts in QuickBooks, you’ll need to open your “Chart of Accounts<\/strong>.” Click on “Lists<\/strong>” and “Chart of Accounts<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click “Add New Account<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your account type and title depend on what account you’re creating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, let’s create our first account – our bank account. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From “Account Type<\/strong>,” select “Bank<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Give your account a name (typically the name of your bank). Save the account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Numbering Accounts<\/strong> in QuickBooks Desktop<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Some people prefer to use account numbers in QuickBooks, rather than account names. You can enter either names or numbers into Artisan’s<\/em> configuration settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To enable account numbering in QuickBooks Desktop, head to \u201cEdit<\/strong>\u201d and \u201cPreferences<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click on “Company Preferences<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right-click on your chart of accounts and select “Customize Columns<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
