This is especially useful if you have multiple employees and want to know exactly who logged in at what time and at what station.<\/p>\n<p>There are a variety of other details you can set, such as passwords and Authorization Levels, to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/certek.com\/kb4\/security-settings\/\">enhance security.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/how-to-select-user-records\" data-wplink-url-error=\"true\">How to Select User Records<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#how-to-create-and-edit-user-records\">How to Create and Edit User Records<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#user-record-details\">User Record Details<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#deleting-records\">Deleting Records<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#activity-tab\">Activity Tab<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"padding: 71.43% 0 0 0; position: relative;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;\" title=\"User Record\" src=\"\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/657069419?title=0&amp;amp;byline=0\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"how-to-select-user-records\"><\/a>How to Select User Records<\/h3>\n<p>In order to use Artisan, someone must be logged in as a &#8220;<strong>User<\/strong>.&#8221; Artisan will recognize that User as the one who is logged in and currently operating the program from this station.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"oceanwp-lightbox\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/certek.com\/kb4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2023-03-21_10h43_59.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-4\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18966 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/certek.com\/kb4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2023-03-21_10h43_59.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"167\" height=\"192\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To switch to another User, click on the \u201c<strong>Current User<\/strong>\u201d button. You will be brought to the &#8220;<strong>Select User to Log In<\/strong>&#8221; screen.<\/p>\n<p>Depending upon the security settings you have set up, Artisan might automatically log in as a specific User upon opening the program. If you have multiple employees, you will most likely have Artisan show the login screen&nbsp;instead. Passwords can be reset, but we strongly recommend storing passwords somewhere secure in case they are forgotten. Setting rates is helpful if you have employees who earn commissions on sales. If this is set to &#8220;Yes,&#8221; the employee will be required to clock in when they log in for the first time during the day\/shift (or they can clock in and out w\/o being logged in). To learn more about the Employee Time Clock, click <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/certek.com\/kb4\/employee-time-clock\/\">here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Time Clock Only?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With this enabled, the User will only be able to use Artisan to clock in their time and clock out. They will not have access to other areas, such as the Sales Screen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Menu Order<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This controls the order the User will be listed as on the login screen. The higher the number, the higher they are listed on the screen. Artisan also lists Users alphabetically. A User with their Menu Order set to &#8220;1&#8221; will be the first User on the screen, unless another user has that number as their Menu Order, and their Short Name comes before theirs alphabetically.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/certek.com\/kb4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2022-09-12_09h27_12.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-16166 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/certek.com\/kb4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2022-09-12_09h27_12.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"172\" height=\"29\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Active vs Non Active<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This controls if the User will display on the Log In screen. We recommend this for employees that are no longer working at your store. We strongly recommend this option as it will\u00a0<strong>not delete their record.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/certek.com\/kb4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2022-09-12_09h26_58.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-16165 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/certek.com\/kb4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2022-09-12_09h26_58.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"247\" height=\"71\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Authorization Level<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Authorization Level is the User&#8217;s &#8220;rank&#8221; within Artisan. This coincides with your <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/certek.com\/kb4\/quick-security-setup\/\">Security Settings<\/a><\/strong> and only permits users with certain levels to perform certain tasks or enter certain areas within the program, such as configuring users, returning items, etc.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/certek.com\/kb4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2022-09-12_09h26_37.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-16164 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/certek.com\/kb4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2022-09-12_09h26_37.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"244\" height=\"145\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong><a id=\"deleting-records\"><\/a>Deleting Records<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Deleting the record will remove the User from the User Records List (and the Log In screen, as their account will no longer be accessible). Deleting the record will not delete the sales the user made (ex. sales will still show up in reports.
