This article explains how to setup the Epson TM-T20 series receipt printer for Artisan 4.0 and 4.5, with or without a cash drawer.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> There are some special configurations that need to be followed for current versions of Artisan. This article and the procedure itself will most likely change as Artisan receives future updates.<\/p>\n

Step 1: Download & Install Driver<\/h3>\n

First, we will install the printer using the manufacturer\u2019s driver (as any other regular printer).<\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> Download the driver from https:\/\/download.epson-biz.com\/modules\/pos\/index.php?page=prod&pcat=3&pid=37<\/p>\n

2<\/strong>. Locate the driver in the designated downloads folder. It should be named \u201cAPD_501_T20II_EWM.zip<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

3<\/strong>. In the folder, locate the actual driver package to be installed, “APD5_MAN_T20II_EN_B.exe<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

4<\/strong>. Connect the Epson receipt printer to your computer.<\/p>\n

5<\/strong>. Double-click on the file to install it.<\/p>\n

7.<\/strong> Follow the prompts. It should install and display a \u201csuccessful<\/strong>\u201d message once complete.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Add\u00a0Printer in Devices and Printers<\/h3>\n

Now make sure the printer has been installed and added under Devices and Printers.<\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> Type “Control Panel” in your Windows search bar.<\/p>\n

2<\/strong>. You should see your “Epson TM-T20″<\/strong> printer under “Printers.”<\/strong>\u00a0Make sure it is solid\u00a0<\/strong>just as the image shows.<\/p>\n

Step 3: Set Receipt Printer in Artisan<\/h3>\n

Now, it is time to set it up in Artisan so that it\u00a0prints receipts, BUT does not open the cash drawer (YET).\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

1<\/strong>. In Artisan, go to “Printer Configuration<\/strong>.” (Main Menu<\/strong> => Tools<\/strong> => Program Options<\/strong> => Device Configuration<\/strong> => Printers<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong>\u00a0Configure the\u00a0Epson\u00a0<\/strong>printer following this image.<\/p>\n

3<\/strong>. The most important setting here is \u201cPrinter Model<\/strong>.” If you will use a cash drawer attached to this printer, make sure \u201cEpson Compatible<\/strong>\u201d is selected as the option.<\/p>\n

If you are not using a cash drawer with this printer, this is your last step, and you do not need to follow the rest of these instructions. It might be a good idea to press the “Test<\/strong>” button to make sure your printer is functioning properly.<\/p>\n

Step 4: Setting Up Cash Drawer in Artisan<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1. Go back to Artisan’s “Device Configuration<\/strong>” screen.<\/p>\n
