PERFORM A BACKUP<\/a> BEFORE PROCEEDING.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Follow these steps to update or upgrade Artisan to the latest version.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Updating<\/strong><\/h3>\n

For Windows Users<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. Click on the DropBox link provided to you by our Support Team. Click the “Download<\/strong>” button in the top-left corner.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

    Artisan will begin downloading.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    2. An install wizard will appear. Click “Next<\/strong>” on the “Welcome to the Artisan POS Software Setup Wizard<\/strong>” screen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

    3. Select the folder where you would like to install Artisan. This should be your “local<\/strong>” folder. Hit “Next<\/strong>” to continue.<\/p>\n

    \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

    4. IMPORTANT<\/strong>: If you’re installing a new version of Artisan (and replacing an old version), the Setup Wizard screen will look like this. Select “update the existing installation<\/strong>,” then hit “Next<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

    \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

    5. Choose “Never<\/strong>” at the “check for updates<\/strong>” screen. Click “Next<\/strong>.” Artisan will begin installing the program.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

    6. Once that is done, leave “Run Artisan POS Software<\/strong>” unchecked. Hit “Finish<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

    \"\"<\/a><\/h3>\n

    For MAC
    <\/strong><\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. Click on the DropBox link provided to you by our Support Team. Click the “Download<\/strong>” button in the top-left corner.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

      NOTE: If you receive an error that your computer does not want to download the file, you’ll need to adjust your security settings. Head to “Security and Privacy.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

      In the next screen, there should be a button that says “enable anyway<\/strong>” or something similar. Click on that. Artisan should then be able to be downloaded on your computer.<\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

      2. Find this installer either on your desktop and double-click on it:\u00a0<\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

      Or go to your “Finder<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

      Then, double-click on the installer icon.<\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

      3. Artisan will begin installing and opening the Install Wizard.<\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

      Click “Yes, update the existing installation<\/strong>.” Click “Next<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

      4. Set the “Check for Updates<\/b>” dropdown to “Never<\/strong>.” Click “Next<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

      If you receive this error message, Artisan is still open. Close the program and resume the update.<\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

      5. Follow the prompts. When you’re finished, you’ll see this screen.<\/p>\n

      Artisan is successfully updated. Leave “Run Artisan POS Software<\/strong>” unchecked and hit “Finish<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

      Upgrading<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      1<\/strong>. Perform a backup before proceeding.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

      2.<\/strong> Exit Artisan on all stations.<\/p>\n

      3.<\/strong> Open Artisan on one <\/em>station. Click on “Help<\/strong>” then “Enter License Keys<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

      4. Select “Add New Record<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

      5. Enter the key given to you by Sales or Support.<\/p>\n
