Your cash drawer needs to be set to the same printer number that your receipt printer is assigned to within Artisan. To set this, you’ll need to open up the cash drawer configurations panel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Note:\u00a0<\/strong>If your cash drawer isn’t working, make sure the correct end of the cable is connected to the cash drawer and the receipt printer. Some cables label which end should be plugged into the receipt printer and which end should be plugged into the cash drawer.<\/p>\n

Head to “Tools<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

Click on “Program Options<\/strong>,” then “Device Configuration<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

Scroll down to “Cash Drawer<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

Make sure the printer number is the same number as your printer (ex. #2). Click on the arrows to change the number.<\/p>\n

Artisan will automatically detect which Control String<\/strong> to input for opening the drawer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hit “Save<\/strong>” once you’re finished.<\/p>\n
