Delivered Orders are orders that have been handed to the customer (picked up) or shipped out.
Marking an Order as Delivered
An order can only be marked delivered if it is a layaway, sales order, or special order. Review these sales types here.
Common Scenarios
Layaway – Use when you’re reserving an item for a customer who cannot pay for the complete order immediately.
Sales Order – Use this if a customer wants to order something you do not have in stock, and they want to purchase something you do have in stock. They want to pick up these items at the same time.
Special Order – Use this if a customer wants to order something you do not have in stock but you can order it for them.
An Order That Needs to Be Paid For
In this example, a customer wants to order a tent but can only pay for a fraction of it up-front. We’ll use a layaway sales type and collect their deposit.
A few days later, they return with the rest of the money. Create a new sale and select the customer.
We’ll see that their order is at the top of the sales screen.
Since the order still needs to be paid for in full, select the “Pay” button.
Make sure “Apply Payment to Selected Invoice, Layaway, or Order” is selected. The remaining balance should automatically be entered into the “Pay This Amount” section. Select “OK.”
Artisan will make note of the deposit.
Press “Finalize.” Select the payment type(s) to pay for the order. Press “Save.”
Artisan will ask if the merchandise has been delivered to the customer. If they are there to pick it up, select “Yes.”
Otherwise, if you select “No,” the order will be on the “Ready Orders” list and you will have to manually mark the order as delivered, which we will cover in the next section.
Ready Orders
Ready Orders are orders that are ready to be delivered to or picked up by the customer, or paid for completely.
From the “Main Menu,” select “Order Status.”
Click on “Special Orders and Custom Orders.“
Next, click on “Ready Orders.”
Select the order.
Click on “Deliver.”
In this case, the order was already completely paid for, and is ready to be marked as “Delivered.“
View Delivered Orders
To view a list of your delivered orders, head to “Order Status” from the “Main Menu.“
Click on “Special Orders and Custom Orders.”
Next, click on “Delivered Orders.”
Choose if you want to view transaction summaries or line items.
This area displays all of the orders in Artisan that have been marked as delivered, including the sales slip number, transaction date, sale type, total, and other pertinent details.
