Connecting Cords to the Printer
Connect the USB cord (White) and the power cord (Black) to their corresponding ports.
Connecting to Computer, Power Supply, and Network
Connect the printer to the computer via the USB cord.
Next, connect the power cord to a power supply (we recommend a battery backup in case of a power outage).
Loading/Replacing Label Roll, and Calibrating Printer
Make sure the printer is turned OFF. Open the printer by gently pressing on the two side button levers at the same time.
Carefully lift the top to its maximum angle.
Slowly lower the top until the cover support locks it into place.
Gently lift the roller out of the printer.
Place a roll of labels on the roller, printing side facing up.
Carefully place the roller back inside of the printer.
The paper should pass under the white roller, under the paper guides, and over the platen.
NOTE: The paper guide sensors are very fragile and WILL break if not handled correctly.
To loosen the sensor’s grip on the labels, carefully nudge the inside edge of both sensors at the same time.
To tighten the sensor’s grip on the labels, carefully nudge the outside edge of both sensors at the same time.
The sensors should not hold onto the label paper too tightly, as it will crimp the paper. The sensors shouldn’t be too loose, or they won’t recognize the paper.
Gently close the top cover and carefully push on the top to lock it.
You’ll need to calibrate the printer before using it. To do so, turn the power switch off. Press the “FEED” button and turn the printer back on. Hold the “FEED” button until the LED light starts blinking red.
Next, you’ll need to test the printer. Turn the power off again. Press and hold the “FEED” button while turning the printer back on. Hold the “FEED” button until the LED light starts blinking orange.
The final step is to initialize the printer. Turn off the power. Press and hold the “FEED” button and turn the printer on again. Keep holding the “FEED” button until the LED light starts blinking green.
To calibrate the gaps between the labels, you’ll need to press the “FEED” button and turn on the power button. Let go of the “FEED” button until the LED light flashes red and orange.
Black Marks on Labels
If your labels have black marks, you’ll need to calibrate the printer’s sensor to recognize them.
Hold the “FEED” button while turning the printer on. Let go of the “FEED” button when the LED light starts flashing green and amber.
Loading or Unloading Ribbons
Open the transparent cover to access the ribbons.
To extract a ribbon, carefully lift the ribbon from one end.
To load a ribbon, carefully insert one end into the ribbon holder.
If you haven’t already, place the paper core onto a spindle and insert the paper core right-side first into the printer.
Stick the ribbon onto the paper core (you can use a label).
Adjust the core and the ribbon until the black section of the ribbon fully covers the core. You can adjust this further by gently closing the transparent cover and powering on the printer.
The ribbon will adjust.
