What is a ZIP File?
“Zipping” a file refers to bundling a file – or multiple files – into a folder. This is useful if you send multiple large files over email or upload them to a file-sharing service like DropBox.
Zipping a File
Locate your files and select them (by dragging over them with your mouse or selecting “Shift” on your keyboard and clicking on each file individually).
With the files selected, right-click and hover over “Send to.” Select “Compressed (zipped) folder.”
Your zipped folder is now created.
Extracting a Zipped File
In order to import a zipped file (either into Artisan or another program) you’ll need to “extract” it from the folder.
Right click on the zip folder and select “Extract All.”
You may optionally choose to change where the extracted files will save to by clicking “Browse” and selecting a different location.
You may also optionally choose to view these files when the Extract is complete. This won’t open the files automatically, but will simply open where they are saved.
Your extracted files are now ready to view/import.
