Depending on the Security Settings you have set, you can let customers use expired Gift Cards.
Using Expired Gift Cards
By default, when Gift Cards (GC) are expired, all users will get a prompt on the payment screen notifying that the GC is expired, and whether or not it is okay to use it.
You can change this functionality in your settings for different user levels, like “Only Manager” or “Not Allowed” for all to use expired GCs.
To change these settings, go to “Configuration Settings (Program Options),” then “User and Security Settings,” and “Security Setting for Sales Related Tasks.”
