Putting Retailers Back In Control Since 1998
CerTek Software Designs began over twenty years ago when two creative software designers, Kurt Gollhardt and David Roberts, made a surprising discovery. They had both developed remarkably similar Point of Sale software–before ever meeting each other. Both programs shared ease of use and thoughtful design, geared toward the independent retailer. They combined the best of these two programs to make Artisan POS (originally called Artisan Storefront).
CerTek brings a unique perspective to the design of POS software for small and medium retail stores. Besides years of software development experience, David and Kurt both have extensive retail knowledge. David owned and operated his own frame shop for over 10 years. Kurt grew up with the family business, an American fine craft store and gallery (Beautiful Things in Scotch Plains, NJ), in business for over 30 years.
Kurt brings extensive programming and computer operations knowledge. David brings an eye for aesthetics and user interface skills.
In 2003, Mark Barnes joined the CerTek team to handle the company’s financial aspects. Mark commits long hours and dedication to ensure that order fulfillment and shipping run smoothly.
Kay also joined the CerTek crew in 2003, and her transition from clerical to sales lead has been inspiring. Kay believes in helping as many people as she can in life and that certainly extends to assisting retailers to become successful. Kay certainly embraces the CerTek philosophy.
We believe in treating our customers with respect and offering helpful, friendly service. Our customer-focused staff is ready to help you, whether you’re ordering a roll of labels–or taking the first step toward a point of sale software.
Kurt, David, and the rest of the CerTek family are proud to offer Artisan POS to independent retailers across the globe, and look forward to doing so for many more years to come.
