CerTek Software takes every step possible to ensure its clients have uninterrupted access to support and services during a natural disaster. Our support team in Florida may be out of unavailable during and after the storm. Our phone system will remain operational with limited staff.
To make sure our clients and their equipment in the path of the upcoming hurricane (and other disasters) are protected, CerTek Software offers the following tips.

Computer Preparedness Checklist
- OFF-SITE BACKUP OF ARTISAN POS
- Dropbox (automatic backup offsite after running Artisan backup)
- External Drive / USB Flash Drive (take it with you after running Artisan backup)
- How to backup Artisan POS
- SECURE YOUR EQUIPMENT
- Computers (best to take computer tower offsite to a more secure location):
- Shut down the operating system
- If connected to a surge protector or UPS – unplug the surge protector or UPS from the wall outlet (or unplug power cables from the surge protector or UPS if all outlet is not accessible).
- If no surge protector – unplug the power cables from the wall outlet (or back of the computer if the wall outlet is not accessible)
- Unplug Ethernet cable from back of computer or docking station
- Use plastic bags to cover the remaining items, and move any computers or devices to a higher location if on the floor
- Printers:
- Power off the pritner.
- If connected to a surge protector – unplug the surge protector from the wall outlet (or unplug power cable from the surge protector if the wall outlet is not accessible)
- If no surge protector – unplug the power cable from the wall outlet (or back of the printer of wall outlet is not accessible)
- Unplug the Ethernet cable from the back of the printer
- Unplug phone cable from the back of the printer (if fax line is connected)
