A Conversation with Hoadley Gallery

Since its launch in 1985, owners Stephanie and Thomas Hoadley have strived to find the finest-quality art for their clients. From jewelry to paintings, pottery to houseware, each piece at Hoadley Gallery is carefully selected.

Admittedly, Stephanie wasn’t always sure about using a point of sale system–was it really necessary for her business? After coming across CerTek’s booths at tradeshows over the years, however, she realized she wanted to learn more. “What really helped was that I was able to ask questions in-person. I knew then that Artisan was the right fit.”

Depending on the season, up to four part-time employees handle general sales tasks for Hoadley Gallery. “Getting them up to speed wasn’t difficult,” Stephanie says. And while Stephanie and Manager Julie deal with inventory-related functions, they’ve found the most value in the consignment section. “A large part of our business deals with consignment,” Stephanie says. “We work with a lot of artists throughout the year. Artisan tracks that smoothly.”

With over a decade of using the program, Stephanie appreciates how easy the process has been for the Hoadley staff. “There’s really nothing I would change. Artisan serves my purposes well.” When asked about the support, she notes that, “We’re happy with the help we receive. Whenever I call, there’s always very nice people there to help us.” 

While Stephanie is looking forward to retirement, she’s proud of the business she’s created and happy to transfer ownership to Julie. “Since Julie and the staff know how to use Artisan, I know it will be a smooth process.”
